17 months locs

Tuesday, December 21, 2010
So I really had to check my locs journey archive because I forgot what month I was on. Anyhow! 17 months woohoo. So I have a story. I discovered that two of my locs eloped. I say elope because I didn't marry aka combine them. I noticed one of my locs being much chubbier than the others and noticed I had a space at the crown of my head. I used to have a fragile loc at the crown of my head and I say fragile because due to built up at 2 months locing, I had no choice but to pick her out in order to remove the residue. So yes. She was weaker than the others at that time and I had to pay special attention to her.

Well apparently at some point I neglected her and due to my negligence the loc that was standing behind her realized that fragile needed support. So they eloped without my consent. Not that they needed it but damn they could have sent me an invitation or asked me to be the priestess or something. I wanted to make this story much more elaborate than this but I'm too tired to think right now so let's move to the pics.

That's the loc that eloped. I don't know if you notice where fragile loc used to live but that area is vacant now

The lighting is better in the bathroom. Esp when taking pics at night...
So flaxseed gel has a helluva hold I might add...That's my hair still looking like I just re-twisted them after 2 1/2 weeks...
 Getting really long now huh

My favorite loc.I don't know why she's my favorite but she is...

In the beginning I didn't imagine my locs being this thick. I love them. My 25th birthday is in a few weeks (Jan 3rd) and I'm dying one of my frontal locs a honey-ish color as a gift from me to myself.

Stay tuned!

Lauryn Hill came to Boston

I saw Lauryn Hill last night. Yes. She came to Boston. I'm still not over it. I still think it's a dream but these pictures that I'm about to post confirms that I did indeed see Ms. Hill last night . I was practically leaning on the stage. Could have kissed her feet actually. Our eyes met several times and I almost melted.

She.
is.
Phenomenal.

She came on stage with so much energy. And her voice. GASP. I was in tears. I feel blessed to have seen her in person. The pictures I took came out a bit blurry but I think I still captured her essence...

Best way to end the year...

A true soul mate...

Sunday, December 5, 2010

"A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. A soul mate's purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, and make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life."
Elizabeth Gilbert
