I know I said I will not post pictures of my locs on my blog anymore, but I went to my friend's wedding last weekend (I was a bridesmaid) and have to show y'all my updo. I went to a salon in Queens, NY and a Trini hairstylist hooked me up!
She hooked me up right?

I'm in chains you’re in chains too
I wear uniforms and you wear uniforms too
I'm a prisoner, you’re a prisoner too Mr Jailer oh
I have fears you have fear too
I will die, but you self go die too
Life is beautiful don’t you think so too Mr Jailer
I'm talking to you jailer
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone Mr Jailer
You suppress all my strategies
You oppress wo oh o every part of me
What you don’t know, you’re a victim too Mr Jailer oh
You don’t care about my point of view
If I die another will work for you
So you threat me like a modern slave Mr Jailer
I'm talking to you jailer
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone Mr Jailer
You see if you walking in a market place
Don’t throw stones
Even if you do you just might hit
One of your own
Life is not about your policies
All the time
So you better rearrange your philosophies
And be good to your fellow man jailer
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone Mr Jailer
Oh i'm talking to you Jailer
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin
Be the first to cast the stone Mr Jailer
Mr Jailer
I hear my baby say I wanna be president
I wan chop money from my government
What he don’t know what he won't know what he can't know
Jailer, Jailer oh
Be good o be good oh be good oh
Somebody be good o be good oh be good
Oh be good o be good oh be good oh
Jailer
Have a nice Weekend!

In The Depths of Solitude
In The Depths of Solitude
i exist in the depths of solitude
pondering my true goal
trying 2 find peace of mind
and still preserve my soul
constantly yearning 2 be accepted
and from all receive respect
never comprising but sometimes risky
and that is my only regret
a young heart with an old soul
how can there be peace
how can i be in the depths of solitude
when there r 2 inside of me
this duo within me causes
the perfect opportunity
2 learn and live twice as fast
as those who accept simplicity

VERSE1:
I was born into this world
Little bitty baby girl
And when I look at why looking so glad
In a racist world
Now it's a difficult process
The matter is of perception
When I look in the mirror what do I see
Is it my reflection?
CHORUS:
Seein' repercussions (talkin bout the things we do)
Ya need to know the repercussions (things can come right back to you)
Look at them repercussions (what goes around comes around)
Heyyy repercussions
VERSE2:
See I was born into this
In another space in time
Time has moved on a death has grown closer
Surely has blown my mind (blown my mind)
Aint that a b**ch...the way the world spins around (spins around, spins around, spins around)
Everything, everything, everything that I said and I did
Surely came back around
CHORUS:
See repercussions (talkin bout the things we do)
Repercussions (things sure can come back to you)
Yeah repercussions (what goes around comes around)
Yeah repercussions (they will get you down)
Repercussions (talkin' bout the things we do)
Yeah Repercussions (things sure can come back to you)
Ya need to know that repercussions (what goes around comes around)
Repercussions (they will get you down)
Knowing that she's back makes me shed tears of joy
Me'shell Ndegeocello
I'm back today to say that I fell in love with Me'shell Ndegeocello.
I discovered her last year when I was mending my broken heart; which was also what made me start this blog. "Fool of Me" was the song that made her debut on my emotions. Yeah I was having one of those moments where I felt like a complete fool. You know. When you love someone who clearly doesn't love you back but you come up with every excuse in the book that he'll come around...
Anyway, "Fool of Me" which I heard from "Love & Basketball" became my very own lullaby. She made me feel human. At that time, it never occured to me though to check out her other songs. Maybe I wasn't ready.
Today I decided to check her out again and WOW OMG she's incredible. Incredible is not a strong enough word to describe her. She's the epitome of what Maya Angelou calls a "Phenomenal Woman". And she has eight albums... If there are any Me'shell Ndegeocello fans who are reading this, please guide me. Where do I start? Which albums should I listen to first? I'm on a budget so I can't buy all at once so I highly appreciate anyone leaving me a comment...just wow
I relate so much to "Wasted Time"
Wasted Time
You rarely notice but I hang on your every word
Everything you say
You are much too busy to notice me
You turn and walk away
Into anothers arms hopeless ashamed
I wish I could hold you that way
Brokenhearted I dream for you to notice me
Wasted time on loving you wasted time
Wasted time on someone
Who wont love you as much as I
As much as I as much as I as much as I
In my fantasy you are asleep beside me
I feel you breathe
If only I could be there for you
The one that you make love to
Wasted time on loving you wasted time
Wasted time on someone
Who wont love you as much as I
As much as I as much as I as much as I
You rarely notice but I hang on your every word
Everything you say
You are much too busy to notice me
You turn and walk away
